Summary: A lot has changed since the aliens resurrected, Blackwood most of all.

Harrison Blackwood had always hated guns. He was a scientist and a pacifist, despised the military, wouldn’t even carry a firearm, much to Colonel Ironhorse’s frustration.

But that had been then, when he’d lived in the comparative safety of the Cottage, when he’d had the Colonel and his Omega Squad for protection. All that was gone now, and the only protection he had was what he could provide for himself.

Guns had become a necessary evil. The aliens had their own weaponry, and in order to fight back, Harrison had been forced to learn how to shoot, and to kill.

Sometimes things just have to change.

Poor Harrison had to change out of all recognition. It's a matter of survival. The introduction of his character in the first episode is so funny, playing a practical joke of a very unimpressed colleague, but from the start of season 2 he's all grim and dark and bearded, not to mention carrying a gun. So sad.
